Quadrat Studio is me — Susan Frye. I'm an ecologist finishing a PhD in forestry (defending 2026), with more than a decade of hands-on field and land-use experience across Ontario. My research is in forest entomology — specifically native bees and how they use the land — which means I've spent years reading landscapes and turning messy field data into clear, defensible answers.
I started Quadrat Studio because I kept seeing the same thing: good land projects that never happen because the funding paperwork is intimidating. Farmers and landowners qualify for real cost-share money — up to $90,000 through programs like the Agricultural Stewardship Initiative — but the Environmental Farm Plans, field maps, budgets, and applications pile up until it all feels like too much.
My job is to make that part simple. I combine ecological and land-use expertise with grant know-how so you can protect and fund your land without drowning in forms — whether you want the tools to do it yourself, or you'd rather I handle it end to end.
